Hoover WindTunnel Uprights
Hoover WindTunnel™ is a series of two corded uprights that each contain a unique nozzle layout, both offering distinct benefits to the consumer.

In addition to developing two different nozzles with unique user benefits, the goal of the project was to develop a ground-up corded upright vacuum that is light-weight, versatile, and has enhanced suction performance.
WindTunnel™ TangleGuard™
The WindTunnel™ TangleGuard™ is especially great for household members with long hair. It incorporates a special brush roll technology that prevents hair wrap up to 16 inches, allowing users to clean carpet or hardfloor without the frustration of having to clean or snip hair off the brush roll.
WindTunnel™ AllTerrain™
The WindTunnel™ AllTerrain™ upright includes a dual brush roll system that is ideal for multi-surface cleaning. The microfiber front brush roll helps pick up fine debris and dust from hard floors, and allows users to effortlessly transition over different floor types and rugs.
My role on the project team was lead industrial designer. As lead industrial designer, my team ultimately relied on me to ensure the product we were developing provided a pleasant user experience, and adhered to the Hoover Visual Brand Language guidelines.
A few of my tasks included: leading numerous consumer research studies, concept iterating with sketches and prototypes, and CAD surfacing. The process wasn't necessarily linear though - just like most complex projects in the product development field, sometimes the process is fluid and going back to the sketch board, for example, is essential. :)
